Dear Members and Friends,
We shall respond to the terrorists attacks. The committee chairs of our Capital Campaign after much discussion and prayer have decided to move ahead with "The Acorn Campaign." Not to do so would be to bow in homage to the terrorists and worsen our economic problems. We need to support the economy at this time in our country?s time of need, to go about our lives as our President has urged us, and even more importantly to exercise our faith. Remember what God said to Abram? "Go from your country and your kindred and your father?s house to the land that I will show you. I will make of you a great nation and I will bless you, and make your name great so that you will be a blessing" (Genesis 12:1-2).
We affirm that God is calling us to build a new Christian education wing with adequate gathering space and restrooms.. This is being called "The Acorn Campaign" because we are growing into a MIGHTY OAK. We are starting small, but a giant of a God is growing us. And we, like never before, are stepping out in faith.
 Commitment Sunday will be October 28. At all three services, we will receive pledges payable over 3 years. Our goal is $180,000. Bill Bass from Church Extension will bring our morning messages: he is driving in from Cleveland just to be with us and must drive back after the services, so please honor his sacrifice by simply being in attendance.
We are making every effort during these weeks to acquaint you and all other members of our church with the details of this undertaking. I firmly believe if our people have the facts, they will respond and we can achieve our goal. The enclosed information tells about the proposed project.
Please understand, all pledges are to be above and beyond regular giving. Without regular giving of tithes and offerings our church will close down. Please do not pledge toward the campaign if it means interrupting in any way your present giving to the Lord.
